Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026 · Applies to the NovaDial browser extension and this website.

1. Data collection

The NovaDial extension collects no data. It has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising and no affiliate links. It does not read your browsing history and does not track which sites you visit.

2. Where your data is stored

Your bookmark tiles, groups, settings, custom images and wallpapers are stored exclusively on your device using the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the extension deletes this data. You can back it up manually via Settings → Import/Export — the backup is a plain file saved to your computer.

3. Network requests the extension makes

NovaDial only talks to the network in these user-visible cases:

• Search suggestions — while you type in the search bar, the typed query is sent to the search engine you selected (Google or DuckDuckGo) to fetch live suggestions. Submitting a search opens the engine's website with your query.
• Site icons — tile favicons are provided by the browser's built-in favicon cache; when a favicon is missing, a public favicon service (Google S2) may be queried with the site's domain name.
• Tile artwork you request — if you add a tile image "by link" or use the site-image style, the extension downloads that image from the page you explicitly added. This uses an optional permission that the browser asks you to approve first.

None of these requests include any personal identifier; they are ordinary web requests equivalent to opening the same resource in a browser tab.

4. Permissions

• storage / unlimitedStorage — to save your tiles and settings locally.
• contextMenus — for the optional "Add to NovaDial" right-click item (can be disabled in Settings).
• favicon — to show site icons on tiles.
• suggestqueries.google.com, duckduckgo.com — search suggestions only.
• Optional broad site access — requested at runtime only for the "image by link" feature described above; never used in the background.

5. This website

novadial.gornich.fun is a static page. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. The web server keeps standard technical access logs (IP address, time, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention only, rotated automatically.

6. Children

NovaDial does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

7. Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date. Since the extension collects nothing, changes are expected to be editorial.
